FlexArms are flexible positioning arms with adjustable rigidity. They attach to the operating table side rail in the tradional manner. Ideal in laparoscopic surgical procedures they are designed to hold any endoscope, retractor or instument firmly into place. The FlexArm is available in a variety of setup configurations. Made from 100% stainless steel, the system is fully auto-clavable.
69045 Series
Model 69045 Is one-piece FlexArm with a fixed (non-detachable) stainless steel scope holding tip and built-in table clamp. The tip accommodates scopes or instruments from 3 - 12mm.
Model 69045-D (shown on left) is identical to the 69045 except that the holding tip is made of Delrin recommended for use with rigid endoscopes.
69045-QC Series
Unlike the 69045 and 69045-D, this model features a Quick Disconnect fitting at the end of the FlexArm. This makes it possible to use different inserts, such as the stainless steel holding tip 69706, the Delrin holding tip 69707, the new "Quick-Grip" scope holding attachments (72163 for 5mm or 72162 for 10mm), or any of the Nathanson liver retractor hooks. The picture on the left shows the 69045-QC, used with a 72162 holding tip and shown holding a rigid scope.
69050 Series
The FlexArm 69050-series are very similar to the 69045-series with the exception that an integral "Bookler Swivel" component at the end of the arm provides additional positioning adjustment, even if the FlexArm itself has been tightened in a fully rigid position.
Model 69050 features this swivel option as well as an integral stainless steel instrument holding tip. Model 69050-D (shown on the left) is identical, except that it has a Delrin clamping tip, which is recommended for holding a scope 3 to 12mm.
Model 69050-QC also features a Bookler swivel option however the tip is equipped with a Quick Disconnect fitting. This means that a number of inserts can be used, such as a stainless steel holding tip 69706, a Delrin holding tip 69707, a QuickGrip scope holding attachment, or indeed any of the Nathanson liver retractor hooks 5 or 6.5mm diam.
69054 Series
This is Mediflex's original "Universal" FlexArm system, consisting of a rigid vertical post, rigid cross bar (connected with a swivel joint), integral table rail clamp and one flexible arm. The following variants are available:
Model 69054 (shown here) with fixed (non-removable) stainless steel holding tip.
Model 69054-D with a fixed (non-removable) Delrin holding tip, recommended when holding a scope.
Model 69054-QC with a quick disconnect hex fitting at the end. This fitting can accommodate any of the available inserts such as QuickGrip scope holder, stainless steel or Delrin holding tip, or Nathanson liver retractor hook.
69055 Series
The 69055 series comprises Twin Universal FlexArm systems with integral table rail clamp. It features a vertical post and a rigid horizontal cross bar, connected via a swivel (ball) joint.
The system has two (2) flexible arm modules that are easily mounted onto the rigid horizontal cross bar, thus achieving a greater reach and flexibility on positioning the two FlexArms.
The following configurations are available:
Model 69055-DS (shown here) has two fixed instrument holding tips, one stainless steel, the other in Delrin.
Other Twin Arm systems can be made combining for instance:
69054 complete single arm system + 69056 companion arm with fixed stainless steel tip.
69054-D complete single arm system + 69056-D companion arm with fixed Delrin tip.
69054-QC complete single arm system + 69056-QC companion arm with Quick Disconnect hexagonal fitting.
As an application sample, shown below is a 69055 Twin Arm system holding both a Nathanson liver retractor hook plus a rigid endoscope (using a quick grip scope holder).
69054 Long Reach
The 69054-LR series is similar to the 69054 range, except that it features both longer vertical mounting post and longer horizontal cross bar, enabling much greater reach which is ideal for bariatric surgery and obese patients. Apart from the longer bars, this series includes a separate rail clamp providing heigth adjustment for the vertical mounting post.
The following configurations are available:
Model 69054-LR (shown here) with one flexible arm and fixed stainless steel instrument holding tip 69706.
Model 69054-DLR, as above however with fixed Delrin instrument holding tip 69707.
Model 69054-QCLR, as above however with quick disconnect hexagonal fitting, that can accommodate any of the FlexArm accessories.
